Thus, we were able to structure an information system of the Factory, put an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) at the service of the Offices, and start the process of computerization of document, archival and human resources management; in addition, we realized the first step of Building Information Modeling (BIM) of the Basilica.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThen,\u201d adds the archpriest of the Basilica, President of the Fabbrica di San Pietro and of the Fratelli tutti<\/em> Foundation, \u201cplatforms and apps have been created to offer services to pilgrims and visitors in order to facilitate their experience in St. Peter’s; and the meanings guarded by the monumental complex have been made more comprehensible – through multimedia languages, the use of Artificial Intelligence and the proposal of training courses. \nMicrosoft’s AI for Good Lab processed the French Iconem team’s vast amount of photogrammetry data, perfecting the digital twin with pinpoint accuracy. Artificial intelligence algorithms filled in the gaps, improved details and created a seamless virtual reconstruction.<\/p>\n
\nArtificial intelligence has helped detect and map structural vulnerabilities in the Basilica, such as cracks and missing mosaic tiles, to better guide future conservation work.<\/p>\n
\nOn the other hand, Lithuanian design studio Dadada<\/strong> curated the immersive-accessible exhibition at St. Peter’s Basilica to offer all visitors the opportunity to extend the communication message from the visual to the spatial and experiential design areas.
\nTwo new immersive exhibitions at St. Peter’s Basilica, Petros Eni <\/em>and Petros Eni Octagon<\/em>, will offer pilgrims and visitors a unique combination of historical notions and digital explorations, showing key aspects in the evolution of the Basilica over the centuries. This permanent exhibition-digital and in-presence-will be inaugurated on the occasion of Jubilee 2025, which is estimated to bring an additional 30 million visitors to Rome.
