Paths of Fraternity – Walking with the Fratelli tutti Foundation

  • A Course on the Social Doctrine of the Church and the encyclical Fratelli Tutti will take place this summer in Rome from 17 to 21 July. Five days of reflections, workshops, visits, for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the Social Doctrine of the Church and make discernment on our times. Particular attention will be paid to the encyclical Fratelli Tutti to reflect on its contents. Fraternity, an essential element of human development both on a personal and social level, will be at the centre of the interventions: fraternity as a paradigm, the relationship between charity and fraternity, the struggles of fraternity in the contemporary world, the relationship between politics and fraternity, solidarity and subsidiarity as sources of fraternity, fraternity and economic inequalities, the Social Doctrine of the Church in the face of pandemics and wars, educating with Fratelli tutti, business at the service of fraternity. The Course is organised by the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Pontifical Gregorian University and the National Office for Social Problems and Labour of the Italian Episcopal Conference in collaboration with the Fratelli tutti Foundation, the Dicastery for the Service of Integral Human Development and Caritas Italiana. Students from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Pontifical Gregorian University (PUG), young people from the Italian Church’s Policoro Project, seminarians, diocesan directors of social and labour pastoral work or Caritas, their pastoral collaborators, members of the Dicastery for the Service of Integral Human Development (DSSUI) and other interested persons are invited. – The project involves a total of 36 hours that the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Pontifical Gregorian University recognises with 3 credits. – At the end of the Course each participant will receive a certificate of attendance. – Priority for registration will be given to participants up to 35 years of age. – The total cost is 330 euro to be paid by bank transfer payable to: ‘Italian Episcopal Conference’ Banco BPM head office in Rome IBAN IT 17 U 05034 11750 000000165900.
