ROUND TABLE ON FRATERNAL COOPERATION, PATHS OF PEACE, SOCIAL ECONOMY

11 may at 4 p.m.
Università LUISS Guido Carli Sala DOME

It is becoming increasingly clear that our society is not yet fully equipped to embrace dialogical positions. However, the global pandemic has also taught us that no one is saved alone.  It is time to consider the possibility of experiencing a unified humanity, a sense of collective brotherhood and sisterhood.

There is a growing sense of isolation and loneliness in our society, which can be partly due to a communication that is defined as global but in fact produces an increasing rise in individualism and isolation, leading to a perceived increase in fragility. This is also due to a paradigm shift in social goals towards more individualistic interests, which has unfortunately led to a lack of respect for the needs of others and projects to enhance the common good. The meeting #BeHuman was conceived with the intention of starting a path of value recovery capable of embracing every human being. Therefore, it would be useful to reflect on ways to redirect the current anthropological and ethical configuration of the self towards a different path, with Pope Francis’ proposal in mind: “We must rewrite the human grammar”.
