CAware that “no one is saved alone”, as Pope Francis reminded us in the darkest and most painful days of the pandemic, the administrators of Italian municipalities are committed to supporting and spreading in all communities the culture of co-operation and relationships based on fraternity and the activation of proximity policies, nourished by dialogue, interaction and solidarity, thus offering the local community the tools to face together the risks and global challenges that concern us today: the environment, migration, inequalities, social needs. It is essential to strive to create a “we” that is stronger than the sum of small individualities. There can be no development without freedom, solidarity, and subsidiarity, without mobilising the energies of each citizen and all the resources of the community at the service of the community and the general interest.
