Come è possibile credere, amare e dubitare? Come possono coesistere nello stesso cuore due dimensioni così contraddittorie?
I choose to meet the Lord.
I concentrate and go beyond my worries and thoughts.
I make a sign of the cross and inwardly express my desire to be in His presence.
For as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. In (those) days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day that Noah entered the ark. They did not know until the flood came and carried them all away. So will it be (also) at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be out in the field; one will be taken, and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and one will be left. Therefore, stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come. Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into. So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.
Perhaps love is deeply rooted in the process of waiting and welcoming that come from two exhortations: keep watch and pray. As if, first of all, God wanted us to be able to love in waiting and welcoming. As if everything began there!
From a gentle welcome and sweet expectation reminiscent of motherhood. The sweetness of prayer with which a mother prepares her heart and life for the arrival of her child.
Here, a new story begins, a new life!
God is also about to be born into the world and his birth will bring new hope, a new covenant between people.
On this first Sunday of Advent, let us prepare our hearts for welcoming and tenderness.
Let’s set our hearts to a patient and loving wait.
Meanwhile, let us understand this: there is deep love in waiting, in preparing our hearts and lives for our Lord. We do not know when He will come!
I visualise the scene by trying to imagine the location, characters, dialogue, tone and gestures.
I let my feelings emerge, what strikes me most, the emotions I feel.
I accept my feelings, without censorship, without judgement
As if I were addressing a friend, I speak to the Lord and with a feeling of gratitude express to him what I feel I am receiving from him at this moment.
I recite an Our Father to greet him and leave the prayer.

This Gospel begins with the verb “to see”. Before speaking, Jesus sees the crowd. His gaze is profound, capable of feeling the sorrow, of perceiving anguish and fear. Before addressing…
